Sorcha Prendergast

Sorcha Prendergast is the Second Level Access Co-Ordinator with the Access Office in the University of Limerick. Sorcha’s role is to support and encourage young people from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds to participate in higher education. In support of this mission, the Access Office is linked to 12 secondary schools in Limerick City and County and runs a number of pre-entry activities which are aimed at raising the aspirations of young people between 12 and 18 years of age towards a third level education.  Sorcha also acts as a representative for the Higher Education Access Route (HEAR), which is a collaborative entry route and one of two Entry Routes operated by the Access Office. This involves promoting the Scheme in our partner schools, responding to queries on the Scheme. Sorcha  also has a background in youth work and has supported young people transitioning from primary school to secondary school level, or from second level to the  higher education level or employment.
